Airbus has continued its routine use of Shannon Airport as a key location for its aircraft flight test programmes, with a notable visit from the Airbus A220-371, registration C-FFDK (MSN 5001), Flight Test Vehicle 7 (FTV7), on March 20, 2025.

Shannon Airport’s strategic location and ample airspace make it a favoured site for Airbus to conduct crucial flight tests, including aircraft certification and the validation of new aircraft systems. Data from Adsbexchange revealed the A220-371’s flight path, originating from Toulouse, France. The aircraft traversed the UK, passing overhead Glasgow Prestwick, before making its approach and landing at Shannon.

After a brief stop at the airport, C-FFDK departed, routing  back to Toulouse. The aircraft’s return journey took it out over the Atlantic Ocean, routing west of County Kerry.
