The Ethiopian Airlines Group has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 737 MAX 8, which was originally allocated to Russian carrier Ural Airlines under the registration VP-BHR but was not accepted, due sanctions from Russia invasion of Ukraine.

The aircraft built in 2019, registered as ET-BBD (msn 66147), using callsign ETH9201, routed Boeing Field to Dublin and then to Addis Ababa between 18-20 November 2025. The aircraft arrived in an all-white livery, with the rudder and sharklets bearing Ural Airlines’ colours,  pending a full repaint by Asky Airlines.

The aircraft, arrived in Dublin at 0809 local time on 19 November 2025, departing the next day at 0746 local, and arriving in Addis Ababa at 1852 local time. The aircraft commenced operating for Asky Airlines from Lome on 28 November operating to Kinshasa (FIH) configured with 8 Business Class seats and 177 Economy Class seats, the aircraft becomes the 6ᵗʰ Boeing 737 MAX 8 to join Asky fleet, which now totals 15 aircraft.
